Eva graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2013 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014. In 2015, Ms. Taché-Green joined Lockyer Campbell Posner as an appeals associate.
Her passion for justice and commitment to the rights of accused persons has deep roots. Before joining the criminal defence bar, Eva worked for the United Nations in Amman, Jordan and Cairo, Egypt. She speaks French and Arabic.
Eva has a BA in American history and a Master’s degree in international diplomacy. After four years working as a human rights defender in the Middle East, she returned to Toronto to attend law school, where she developed an interest in criminal justice. While obtaining her JD, she volunteered in Gladue Court, interned for Human Rights Watch, and wrote a report on the rehabilitative programs available for inmates in provincial reformatories.
Eva summered with Legal Aid Ontario and articled at a boutique criminal law firm in Toronto. As an articling student, Ms. Taché-Green worked on drug, firearm, sexual assault and fraud appeals, as well as appeals of Ontario Review Board decisions. She also assisted duty counsel with inmate appeals.
As an appeals associate at Lockyer Campbell Posner, Eva represents clients appealing their convictions and sentences, as well as individuals responding to Crown appeals. She has significant experience appealing unfavorable Charter rulings and has worked on several homicide appeals. Eva also prepares leave applications to the Supreme Court and applications for judicial review. She has appeared in the Summary Conviction Appeals Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Although her practice focuses on post-conviction law, Eva enjoys doing the occasional bail hearing because she likes getting people out of jail.
